The Losi Micro B (Review)
The Losi Micro B is an incredibly capable micro RC race buggy straight out of the box. The Micro B looks like a shrunken version of Losi's 22 buggy, and it doesn't disappoint.

TLDR
The Losi Micro B is one of the most impressive micro RC buggies available right now. It offers smooth handling, surprising performance, and a true race buggy feel in a tiny package. While it has a few minor quirks, like turnbuckles popping off during hard impact, it’s an excellent choice for indoor tracks and small scale racing

What's in the box?
Inside the box you'll find the buggy, a Specktrum SLT2 transmitter, 4x AAA batteries, and a bag containing the instructions, a USB charger and a 350MAH Spektrum 2s battery pack. There's also a nice Losi decal in there too for you to stick wherever you please.

Overview:
The buggy comes in two colorways, White with yellow and red graphics, and silver with blue and purple graphics. I personally like the silver scheme a little bit better, but I really like the yellow wheels on the white one.
It features oil filled shocks in all four corners, and a typical set of tires for a buggy with spikes in the back and ribs in the front. Similar to its bigger 1/10th scale brethren, the Micro B has an aluminum chassis and mid mounted motor setup. There is a plastic top deck that is home to the Spektrum 2 in 1 ESC/Receiver combo and appears to help add some support and stiffen up the chassis. The battery rides securely underneath the top deck and is held in place with a lever style battery door.

First Pack
The Micro B feels incredibly smooth and much more dialed than I would have expected for a buggy this size. It feels much like a 1/10th scale race buggy and handles jumps very nicely. There is a little bit of under steer to deal with in tighter corners, especially under power, but that is to be expected from a 2wd buggy, even on carpet.
Fifth Pack
After a few packs I started to get a feel for the Micro B and felt comfortable pushing it harder and harder which is something the Micro B responded to really well. The little 050 motor provided plenty of power for my makeshift track and it is advertised to propel the Micro B to a top speed of 13 miles per hour! That may not seem like much, but when we're talking about a 1/24th scale buggy on a tight little track, it almost felt overpowered. I found that if you completely and abruptly drop the throttle prior to a turn the buggy would lean forward enough to help counter some of the over steer when entering a corner. I was still going wider than I would like while exiting those corners, but it worked well enough, especially on stock rubber. I don't think it would take much work to turn the little Losi into an absolute weapon on a carpet track.

Durability Notes
Despite hitting the concrete wall in my garage multiple times I couldn't quite break this little buggy, but what I could do is pop the little plastic turnbuckles off whenever I would hit something particularly hard. It's not a big deal, and most people won't mind simply popping the links right back on, but its something that could absolutely ruin a race. I'm hoping that there will be some aftermarket options that hold on a little bit better.
I can't say how well the Micro B will handle skate park bashing or super heavy abuse, but when used how I think Losi intended for it to be used, it held up fine. Another note is that both the motor and battery heat up quite a bit on the Micro B. I wouldn't say there is any danger in this heat, but it certainly gets warm enough to where I would advise letting the motor and battery cool a little bit before charging or running the buggy again.

Final Word
I think the Micro B is an incredible performer and that its priced incredibly well for what it is, but that's not what I think makes this product so special. The Micro B lowers the bar of entry for racing by not only being incredibly affordable, but by being small enough to where just about anyone could set up a track, and get a club started. Sure, you could have done something similar with the older Micro T, but the revamped Micro B brings so much more to the table in terms of quality, performance, and general excitement. Wouldn't it be awesome if other manufacturers produced their own 1/24th scale buggies, and we could have a real 1/24 scale class? It would be amazing. This could do for off road RC racing what the Mini-Z did for on road, and that is something that I think is extremely special.
